Glasstex P

Specifically designed for asphalt reinforcement and pavement repair, Tensar Glasstex is a composite glass yarn grid and non-woven paving fabric that together, provide reinforcement and act as a Stress Absorbing Membrane Interlayer and a moisture barrier, providing asphalt reinforcement, stress relief and sealing, giving road pavements a longer operational life and reducing maintenance requirements.

Designed for asphalt overlays with a minimum compacted thickness of 40mm, Glasstex mitigates reflective cracking over joints in underlying cracked substrates, plus those induced by thermal movement of substrates and traffic-induced shearing.

The Glasstex is adhered to the underlying pavement structure using a straight-run bitumen bond coat. Once saturated with bitumen, the fabric acts as a waterproofing layer, resisting moisture ingress to reduce weakening of lower pavement layers.

This results in a road with a longer operational life, minimising pavement maintenance and therefore potential lane closures and traffic disruption.
