Going with the flow in Germany
Water is a powerful force and efforts to control it often result in hard engineering with little sympathy to the natural force it is designed to hold back. But one project, near Rees in Germany, is working towards taming the Rhine with minimal impact on the rural aspect through use of geosynthetics and only using piling as a temporary solution.
