US Army Corps of Engineers and Pavement Performance Testing
Here is a summary of a paper that was presented at the TRB conference in January 2012 regarding Tensar's most recent research with the United States Army Corps of Engineers in Vicksburg, Mississippi.
This is a good example of the kind of rigorous testing that is required to validate the performance of geosynthetics in pavement applications. It takes a lot of time and money to do enough of this work to get meaningful data for pavement design, but it’s the only way. To date, Tensar has accumulated data from many trials and test, representing millions of $ of investment.
