Retaining Walls
Reduce costs and save time with Tensar Technology
There are many traditional options when building retaining walls, often involving reinforced concrete and piling. However, for true versatility combined with substantial savings in both cost and construction time, Tensar has developed the TensarTech range of retaining wall systems using a combination of soil reinforcement geogrids securely connected to attractive facing units, including dry laid concrete modular facing blocks.
The benefits
Whichever TensarTech Wall System is right for your project, the benefits remain the same:
- Long-term, proven design stability
- Simple construction reducing build times and cost
- Aesthetically appealing
- Modular block systems dry-laid with out mortar
- Easily create complex or curved geometry
- Up to 120 year design life
- Possible to use site-won materials
- Most systems need neither crane lifts nor temporary propping
- May avoid need for bearing piles
- High resistance to dynamic and seismic loading
A wide range of options
Using our 30 years’ construction experience, design expertise and innovative geogrid products, Tensartech Retaining Wall Systems offer a number of facing types and construction options to suit the structure’s end use, location and required design life. These include:
TensarTech TW1, TW3, and Mesa modular block retaining wall systems made from precast concrete, in a range of colours, styles and textures. The TW1 Link system gives the option to build an architectural, project specific masonry or brick skin which is connected to the Tensar block face. TensarTech Panel as either full height or incremental pre-cast concrete panels in a size, shape and finish to suit the project requirements and aesthetic needs
TensarTech Marine
incorporating substantial pre-cast concrete units perfectly-suited to aggressive marine conditions
TensarTech RockWall for the appearance of a traditional gabion face combined with lower cost fill in the reinforced soil block behind
TensarTech TR2 a low-cost, functional structure that’s quick and easy to erect, suitable for temporary works structures or for lateral thrust relief on existing retaining walls
